Soft tissue surgeries are all those that do not involve bone. We do a wide range of soft tissue surgical procedures that your pet may require:
Desexing – is a routine surgical procedure that involves the removal of your pet’s reproductive organs to permanently prevent them from reproducing. In males it is referred to as castration and spaying in female dogs. It is the most common surgery performed by our veterinarians.
Mass removal – another common procedure. Sometimes a biopsy will be done before removal to see if it is cancerous or not. This information helps us to plan the surgery for the best outcome. We always recommend sending the sample for analysis once removed.
Biopsies – A biopsy allows your veterinarian to determine the types of cells in a tissue sample. Biopsies are commonly used to determine if growths are cancerous but can also help determine the severity of a disease.
If you should find any lumps or bumps on your pet or should you wish to learn more about desexing, please call or visit our office for more information.
